May the Banjaras get Strong Leadership in the field of Social, Political and Religious: Bhausing Pawar, Mumbai
Dear Kamal ji
Jai Sevalal !!!
I am Bhausing Pawar from Mumbai, Maharashtra (Native Place-Telgawhan, Tal. Darwha Dist.Yavatmal, Maharashtra.) and currently serving as an Assisstant Commissioner Of Sales Tax in the Department of Sales Tax, Maharashtra State, Mumbai.
You may definitely know the joy of realizing a special things in life. The same has happened to me when I typed 'Banjara" in google search and to my surprise, at the click of mouse I got 'banjaratimes .com'. This is amazing! I kept navigating through the website the whole day as it is holiday today.
I heartily congratulate you to make such an International Platform available to all we Goar Bhais. Being a part of the Civilized society and witnessing the evolution, the mankind has made in the 21st century, it is very essential to leap forward in the vertical as well as horizontal direction of the growth.
By launching this platform, you have made tremendous service to the Banjaras of the world especially Indians. I am aware that the Colourful and Enthusiastic Banjaras have made their feel in all spheres of life in India and around the world. The banjaras have always remained as Pillars and posts in keeping Indias Cultural and social values intact till today. Now we are feeling our presence in all spheres of development including Government, Public, Private Sectors... nationally and internationally.
At the same time I must register my concern over the growing reluctance in the field of school education and higher education among the adolescent especially among the children of illiterate farmers and farm workers.
We are having political idols such as Late Vasantrao Naik and great administrator like Late Sudhakarrao Naik (Both were the Chief Minister of Maharashtra State of their times and may always be remembered for their work). I look forward that "May the Banjaras get STRONG LEADERSHIP in the field of Social, Political, and Religious" so that we can progress in those fields including Civil Administration, Science and Technology.
I have gone through the mails you received. There should not be any politics among ourselves. we must encourage the good things for the betterment of the society. I feel that the educated, intelligent youth from all leading fields within the nation and international should come forward , share such world wide platform and do something for our brothers and sisters who couldnot manage to keep pace with the time.
I am eagerly waiting for the response. my email ID: bhausing.pawar@rediffmail.com
Thank you.

During a short interview with Daily11 Director revealed that “Chhevan Dariya” is a movie with a social message and depicts the condition of Punjabi youth getting into Drugs (The Sixth River). Surprisingly Bollywood badman Gulshan Grover is playing a positive role in the film, besides Gulshan Grover all the starcast is presently busy with the shooting of the film in ludhiana. (With thanks from punjabiview.com)
Synopsis: Whenever you hear the word ‘Punjab’ you think of ‘Makki Di Roti’, Sarson Da Saag’ and all you visualize is ‘Giddha’,’Bhangra’ and loud Punjabi Music. We at Noor Nissan Productions have gone ahead and have taken the audience into the real journey into the land of five rivers which ultimately explores the most vital element of the land-“Chhevan Dariya”( The Sixth River)
‘Chhevan Dariya’, the expression is commonly associated with the abundance of drugs and alcohol that permeates the land of five rivers. Punjabis have always felt themselves to be the proud natives of the land of five rivers – from where has emerged this destructive sixth river? The film ‘Chhevan Dariya’ (The Sixth River) is a loud and clear clarion call to the positivity, fortitude and the spirit of Chardhikala of those born in the land of five rivers to take up cudgels against the destructive forces rampant in their dear land.
The story begins with the pouring in of the guests at Deedar Singh’s (Gulshan Grover) haveli. The occasion is the marriage of a girl with whose grandfather Deedar Singh had a close friendship. This brings in people from Philadelphia and Punjab. Soon, Carol (Christa Cannon)), a friend of Fateh (Manpreet Singh), from US also joins them by sheer coincidence. Fateh’s friend, Dev (Lakhvinder Wadali) gets attracted to Carol and thus love starts blooming. Fateh and Dev’s childhood friend, Reet (Navneet Kaur), a TV journalist, shares some close moments with Fateh and their relationship gets strengthened as the story develops.
The film depicts how the drug abuse can destroy friends and how a hapless old man is left alone without a family. The film also highlights the malady of poor leadership and stresses the need of quality leaders. For this purpose Deedar Singh evolves a novel method to produce role models.
Carol is doing research on the present day Punjab. There is strong mafia involving politicians, small and big drug peddlers with nefarious designs, out to grab the agricultural land in the garb of industrial development. There is a considerable melodrama in this aspect and ultimately they are exposed. However it takes toll on Carol’s life.
The film is dotted with nuances of Punjabi folk songs and dances and there are a couple of Shabads which are a delight for the soul. Baba Punjaba’s (Rana Ranbir) role is dotted with powerful dialogues which reveal the pain and agony of the people of the once prosperous state. The film is a treat for the young and the old alike and has points for all the walks of life, be it a common man, a poor person, an industrialist or a farmer.

News of Samaj Sudhar meeting of Punjabi Goaars: Reaction from Dr. Pandu Naik, Bangalore
Dear Mr. Kamal
I was going through the news of Samaj Sudhar meeting of Punjabi Goaars. I am happy to see so much of forward thinking among Goaars of Punjab.
My suggestions are as under. I request you to pass on this message to Mr Ritesh who has reported the news.
1) The quotes under each photo looks good. Since they are punjabi words written in English alphabets, all of us cannot understand them. Please write in English so that non-Punjabi Goaars can also benefit.
2) The following may be household words for all of you in Punjab but rest of us have not heard of what these words are. The reporters/editors may consider describing such terms in few lines so that we all can understand.
Fazool Kharchi PANJEERI SHAGUN MILNI
3) Rest is fine. Thanks all of you for communicating.
