Cuffe Parade Tanda: Since 1971,  Banjara People were comes from Karnataka (Gulbarga District) for their livinghood in Mumbai. They were settled with their families. They were live in Jhugi Jhopadi.  Till date they are living here. They are working at Sasson Dock of supply fishing. In 1971, Banjara Students Education Ratio was 0% but now it is increased to 60%. In 1971, Banjara’s population was 100 persons But now 10,000 Banjaras are living in Cuffe Parade Tanda .

Social Work: Banjara Youth Welfare Society is working for many social problems. Society is helping poor Banjara students and providing them books, school dresses etc. Society aware Banjara people from various government scheme and they received benefits from it. Society distributed every year note books to all Banjara students. We are given guidance to all Banjara students who appeared in SSC & HSC. We also honored those students who get good marks in SSC, HSC and Graduation.

Festivals: Banjara Youth Welfare Society is celebrating various festivals like Diwali according to the Banjara Culture.  On occasion of the Diwali Banjara Girls are doing Mera (with Diya in hand) at night. Holi, Ganesh Utsav , Navratra Utsav, Republic Day, Independance Day, Janamashtmi  etc. We also celebrate Banjaras Kul Guru Sant Shree Sevalal Ji Maharaj’s  Jyanti every year.

Sports: Banjara Youth Welfare Society conducted various sports tournaments like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Chamcha Goti etc. Awards presented to the winner teams. We conducted various cultural programs like Dance competition, Drama and Singing competition etc.

Caste Certificate Problem: We are fighting against Government of Maharashtra for the issuing of caste certificates because most of Banjara students did not get admission in colleges due to the caste certificates. Maharashtra Government is not issuing Caste Certificates to Banjaras of Cuffe Parade Tanda. We have request to Maharashtra Government that provide caste certificate to backward caste Banjara students for their bright future.
